Berries, Berries, Berries

There should be plenty of blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries at the
farm stands this week. We’ll choose the best and go to work. First will be
some simple but simply delicious shortcake biscuits. Then we will try our
hand at a crisp, a cobbler, and a pie.
We’ll also make a jam or two and preserve some berries in brandy.
Techniques will include quick pie pastry in the food processor, a primer on
thickeners,
intro to jamming, and fruit shortcake with the right balance between wet
and dry.
